The Butler University softball community is coming together in an outpouring of love and prayer following reports that senior infielder Olivia Robards was involved in a serious car accident in Indianapolis.
While details remain limited and no official statement has been released by the university, the Butler softball program’s official Instagram account prompted hundreds of heartfelt responses from fans, former players, coaches, and members of the broader college softball world, all united in hope for Robards and her family.
Comments flooded in from across the country. “Sending prayers to Olivia’s family and the whole Butler community,” wrote one supporter.

By the time her junior year concluded, Robards had grown into one of the team’s most consistent offensive weapons. She batted .339, collected 42 hits, drove in 22 runs, and added seven doubles while splitting time between shortstop and third base.
Her coach, Scott Hall, had long spoken highly of her instincts and competitive edge, once describing her as someone who simply knows how to play the game the right way.
Her 2026 senior season continued that upward trajectory. Through the bulk of the campaign, she was hitting .313 with 36 hits and 27 RBI, and she earned Big East recognition following a standout series at Georgetown in April, where she reached base in eight of ten plate appearances.

She holds school records for single-season hits and batting average. She was a National Honor Society member and received Academic All-City recognition, demonstrating that her excellence was never confined to the diamond.
